Does Everyone Get Approved by SmartSmileCo?

SmartSmileCo does not approve everyone for aligner treatment. We have to say no to some people for their own safety and the best possible results.

We believe in being transparent, and the reality is that not everyone is a candidate for our aligners. Potential customers are turned away because their dental issues are too complex for our treatment.

Who is a Candidate for SmartSmileCo?

While we are able to treat most alignment issues, with several options for treatment from purely teledentistry for simple to moderate cases, to in-clinic for the complex cases. We can’t treat severe cases that require more hands-on in-clinic treatment . If your case is deemed too complex, you may need traditional braces or other orthodontic options.

How is Eligibility Determined?

Your eligibility for SmartSmileCo is decided by a dentist or orthodontist who conducts a thorough review of your 3D image, photos of your teeth, and other important information. Sometimes, they may even request additional documentation from your local dentist to ensure you’re a good fit for treatment.

There are a few reasons why you might not be approved:

• Complex Dental Issues: Your case may be too severe for our aligners.
• Need for Prior Dental Work: You might need dental work, such as a filling or a root canal, before you can safely begin treatment.

If our affiliated dentists determine that you aren’t eligible, we’ll refund the cost of your impression kit.
